"The only important thing to me at Christmas is my family"

It's Christmas Eve and the boys are tucked up in bed after a couple of bed time stories probably dreaming of that magical bearded man in his bright red suit, he'll be here in a matter of hours. I've not written a post for the last few days as we seem to have had so much to do. We braved the supermarket at 8am this morning which was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Then popped to a few other shops to get some last minute bits.

It's so easy to get wrapped up in buying presents and spending money this time of year. Don't get me wrong it's nice to spend money on the people that you care about and we will always make an effort, But there are more important things and things that mean so much more to me.

Over the last few days I've read many negative Facebook status' moaning about Christmas, mainly about money but also about not being able to get certain presents for people, I know it can be a stressful time of year but I think people have forgotten what Christmas is all about, of course there is the religious side if that's what your into but for me (and ill be honest I have only realised this in the last 3 years) it's all about family and surrounding the yourself with people you love and people that make an effort with you throughout the year.

It's been a long time since I have felt part of a loving family and I have really embraced my situation. I can honestly say that despite all the badness that has happened with my birth family I am actually the happiest I have ever been and for that I feel so lucky. I've been so let down by people in the past but here and now is exactly where I am supposed to be.

Its been an amazing year and so nice to know that finally there are people around me that truly love me. Laura and the boys are the greatest thing that have happened to me and i will spend the rest of my days making sure they are always smiling. I feel very lucky that i have been reaquainted with 2 great friends who have made so much effort with us and we have become very close.

When you have family and friends then there's no need to stress about the material things. Even if we didn't have the money to buy nice things for the boys, i know that we would make up for it with effort and love and i can happily say that our boys have been brought up to know whats more important, hopefully that will never change.

Weve had a great year on the blog and have made some lovely new friends so for all of our readers we really hope that you and  your families have an amazing Christmas and New year.
