"You know what they say. The female is the deadlier of the species."

AAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!! Is pretty much the only way I can describe how I felt when I first read that this LEGO kit was actually going to be released. I'm quite sure that people would tell me to grow up if they knew me, but as a 36-year-old LEGO geek, there are certain LEGO releases that have almost tipped me over the edge. When you combine my brick obsession with a lifetime love of Marvel comics then things can go into nerd overload. Don't get me wrong, ALL LEGO kits get my creative juices flowing but every now and again there will be a kit that really excites me, more than the others. The last time this happened was with the release of the Guardians of the galaxy movie kits as the comics were such a big thing for me growing up. So I'm sure you can imagine just how excited I am about the kits that accompany the Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 movie, which is released later in the year.

The kit that has got me so excited recently though is Marvel Super Heroes Hulk Vs Red Hulk 76078, surprisingly not for either of the hulks, despite how awesome they are and how great they will look displayed with our collection. The She-hulk run of Marvel comics was one of my favorites growing up. Hulk's cousin Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk) didn't get the same attention that Hulk did but for me was always the more interesting Super Hero (plus I may have had a little teen crush on the green heroin). I had been hoping that she would be one day immortalised in LEGO for many years, but I didn't think there was much chance of that happening, until now (Cue that AAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!! again).

LEGO continues to blow me away with all of their amazing releases, and this recent release has made me realise that if She-Hulk can make the cut then there is hope for some of the other characters that I would love to see getting the brick makeover. I'm still holding out for a comic style Baron Zemo (Maybe in a Thunderbolts kit) and a large buildable Galactus (possibly something I should just create myself). There are so many characters from the Marvel universe that LEGO could be producing kits that I adore forever!

What is also great about these awesome kits is that with each new character release from the marvel universe, there comes more super hero education for the boys. They love anything that I loved as a kid and I have opened their eyes to the magical worlds of both LEGO and Marvel. Lego's Hulk Vs Red Hulk has everything the boys need for boisterous play. 4 Hulks for a full on tag team battle, trucks made for bashing and catapult that flings the characters about.

This kit has got me and the boys talking about a big Hulk themed build, to house our hulks, so watch this space. HULK SMASH!!!

Before I go to continue some solo LEGO building, I had to include Opeie's creation that had him rolling around on the floor laughing. Both hulks lost an arm and they became conjoined twins. Opeie had them doing all sorts of awkward things together. They look like a couple of drunk aggressive lads on a night out to me. I love Opeie's crazy LEGO role-play. This is what LEGO is all about.

With the Lego Batman Movie hitting the cinemas and many Marvel Movies soon to be released, its going to be a big super hero fuelled year for LEGO and I'm excited to be a part of it.

Happy building all! Mighty Micros post coming very soon (and they are AWESOME!).

"I live underground y'all are just tourists."

I love it when the boys get into making up a LEGO story and this one was all Opeie's idea.  He was desperate for the Killer Croc sewer Smash kit for quite some time and is so excited about the new LEGO Batman movie kits that are being released in 2017. It's going to be an Awesome LEGO year for super hero kits.

I'm sure we'll get kidnapped again soon, so stay tuned!

"By the Mystic Moons of Munnopor!"

Us LEGO geeks and Minifigure collectors all around the world have our favourite theme of those amazing bricks and although I adore all LEGO, for me, the theme that really gets me excited is LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. As a child, reading comics was a big thing for me and the Marvel Super Heroes gave me a way to escape into an exciting world where anything is possible. These days I don't seem to have much time to catch up on the comics I love but LEGO are definitely keeping this Super Hero fire burning strong.

When the early Spider-man sets were released it was so exciting, I never thought for a second though that we would get to see Guardians of the galaxy immortalised in LEGO (which was a comic run that I loved) or that there would be a Thanos figure as well as characters like Hyperion and Giant man. LEGO has come a long way over the last few years and for enormous fans of the brick like me, it is a very exciting time for custom building.

The huge rise in Super Hero movies has obviously been the reason for this great new collection of LEGO hitting the shelves and I am constantly keeping my eyes open for anything online that will give me a clue to what may be released next. I'm still hoping for a comic style Baron Zemo figure as he is one of my favourite all time villains from the comics and I would love to see a Thunderbolts team LEGO kit (My favourite run of Marvel comics).

The most recent of LEGO's awesome Marvel Super Heroes kits hitting the shelves is to coincide with the release of tMarvel's new movie Doctor Strange. I knew very little about Doctor Strange as he rarely popped up in the comics I read growing up so I've been reading up on him before going to see the movie. The LEGO kit is different from any of the other kits released due to the attributes of his character. There's no trucks with rocket launchers or futuristic looking planes.  The kit focus' on the inner madness of the Sanctum Sanctorum, Doctor Strange's house that is protected by enchantments and illusions. I love the detail in this kit and it works perfect as a display piece as well as having great playability. Building the kit had us wishing we still had Ironman's Malibu house built.

Everything about this build is really thought out and for a lower to mid price range kit I think you really get a great kit for your money. Doctor Strange, Mordo and the ancient one are great figures and look awesome displayed on the side of our arcade with the rest of our Marvel Super Hero collection.

Doctor Strange's sanctum Sanctorum is a must have kit and has jumped the list to my second favourite kit of 2016. Nothing is beating that LEGO city fun in the park kit. Up next the web warriors ultimate bridge battle set which We have been eager to build, so watch this space.

"You know what's about to happen. Do you really wanna punch your wayout of this?"

With the release of Captain America Civil war a couple of weeks back, (which I am still yet to watch, grrr...! I have however read all of Civil War and it was truly amazing), Me and the boys went through our usual pre-superhero movie release routine and went window shopping online for the awesome products tied into the movie. The Disney store (as expected) had an awesome selection of products, everything a budding superhero could possibly need. The product that caught our attention the most though we're the Iron man gauntlet gloves and they were a definite must for the boys superhero armoury.

When they arrived, Opeie instantly dropped what he was doing and ran upstairs to grab his iron man mask for full effect. Then, of course, it was time to do battle. I'm so jealous of the superhero toys available these days, I'd have been in my element as a child being able to have Iron Mans gloves (even though I am definitely team cap). The gloves have light-up repulsors on the palms and shoot out rockets... AWESOME! The only negative about these gloves (and it's a big one!) is that they don't fit me! Come on Disney store, you must know that when the kids have gone to bed we're sitting watching the movies wearing this stuff, or maybe that is just me.

There are so many great civil war products to choose from and we've now got our eye on the Captain America and Black Panther masks to go with the boys collections.

If Iron Man's Gauntlet gloves aren't exciting enough (come on, you know they are), the boys also have the Civil war Deluxe figurine play set waiting for a rainy day stuck indoors. Which if the last two days is anything to go by maybe very soon. The set includes Captain America and Iron man (of course), Vision, Hawkeye, Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Ant-man, Black panther, Falcon and War Machine. So I love forward to battling with those very soon.

"THERE WAS SOMETHING odd about the tour guide. She was tall, with long hair, and she seemed to know a lot about Chinese history - as she should, working in a museum. But as Steven Lee listened to her, he couldn't shake the feeling that she wasn't quite what she seemed."

I never did enjoy school trips when I was younger, but for Steven, his school trip to 'The New China Heritage Museum' would change his life forever when he decides to act on his hero like tendencies and follow the unnerving screams from a museum door and an intriguing tour guide named Jumanne acting very out of character. Steven follows the screams down a creepy staircase to an underground cave filled with mysterious pools,

Here he sees a man floating above the pools who is addressed by three scientists as Maxwell. The underground pools contain powers connected to the Chinese zodiac and Maxwell and his army 'The Vanguard' are attempting to consume the powers of all 12 zodiac signs. Had Steven stumbled on this place by chance? or had fate brought him there? and was there anything behind the nickname his grandad had given him growing up "little Tiger".

While saving the Museum tour guide (who he finds out is actually named Jasmine). he unexpectedly consumes the power of the Tiger giving him increased strength and the reflexes and agility of the wild cat. Steven manages to escape the capture set in motion by Maxwell and his army and his world is completely turned around when he joins Jasmine and Zodiac expert Carlos in attempting to stop the vanguard, an evil organisation desperate for the powers of the zodiac.

Growing up with Stan Lee's amazing stories over the years I have connected with so many of his characters. I'm a super hero fan through and through and his amazing writing style, taking people with super human powers who can scale buildings, lift tanks and fly around in iron suits while having to deal with all the real life issues that we all deal with makes him stand out well above the rest. His latest venture 'The Zodiac Legacy - CONVERGENCE' continues this moreish style of writing that gets me hooked every time. I'm only half way through the book but I'm eager to read more and that's the kind of book I want to be reading. As with any book, if it doesn't grab my full attention in at least 5 pages then the book isn't getting read.

If the excitement of a new Stan Lee book isn't excitement enough, it's only signed by the man himself isn't it!!! aaaaggggggghhhhhh!!!! Geek overload!

Convergence, written by Stan Lee and Stuart Moore with art by Andie Tong is the first book in The Zodiac Legacy series and i cant wait to get stuck into the next installment.
