"Okay, anybody on our side hiding any shocking and fantastic abilities they'd like to disclose? I'm open to suggestions."

When it comes to LEGO every kit gets the boys excited. They love opening the boxes and routing through for the Minifigures first before sitting down together and following the instructions to build something amazing. Sometimes though there is a build that stands out from the rest and building LEGO Giant man to them was the ultimate. They had their eye on the kit since long before its release but it wasn't until a recent Super hero event a couple of weeks back when the excitement really kicked in.

It was great to go to an event where the LEGO kits were there to be played with (that's what LEGO is all about after all). The kits from the Civil war movie are AMAZING and with lots of new characters and outfits, it is a superhero/LEGO geeks dream come true. We're  now looking forward to getting our hands on the new Marvel kits that are about to be released, the Web warriors ultimate bridge battle, Sends my nerdy side into overload!

Gifts from the Pirates in Orlando - Islands of Adventure / Super Hero Island

Marvel super hero island, located at Islands of adventure is straight out of a comic book, the streets are filled with comic print characters and places themed by the marvel world buildings, heroes and villains I have admired from an early age. I'm a comic book geek yes and what I love about super hero island is that it's aimed at all different ages and also levels of fandom. The rides are amazing and being a huge marvel fan I'm always a little overwhelmed by it all. My favourite thing about this area (as with seuss landing) is that everywhere you stand there is an amazing backdrop for family photos (the photos to me are one of the most important parts of our family holidays).

Universal studios and Islands of adventure are joined together but are seperate parks, if you buy a flex ticket for the parks then you can go in either along with many other attractions that I will list at the end of the post. Thanks to Visit Orlando We had park to park tickets and on the morning we were heading there we were all really excited. As with everything in Orlando the parking is very clear so no need to panic about where you are going. There is a $15 charge though as with all the parks for the day. It's a bit of a walk from the car park to the park but when you are as excited as we were, that time flew by and we soon reached our destination.

As I said in the previous post when we arrived at Islands of adventure we went straight to Seuss landing but after we had had our fill of Seussian delights we moved on to my other big love, Marvel. The boys were desperate to meet Spider-man and the other characters and Mrs M  was really looking forward to going on the Spider-man ride with Seth as he had thrown a mini strop last year and she didn't get a chance to go on, she loved it though and i think it was worth the wait.

The streets were filled with super hero fans of all ages all with big smiles, it would be virtually impossible to be miserable here. While Mrs M and Seth were queuing me and Opeie went off to meet Captain America and then we did a parent swap which is a great thing that the parks do if you have a child that is to small for the rides. It means that you both get to ride without having to queue twice, very handy. The ride was amazing and straight after we got to meet Spider-Man. Seth being the mini detective he is, commented after that the tone of his voice sounded different from their last encounter and was convinced it was a different spider-man but we convinced him he may just be tired or have a cold keeping his faith in his beloved hero.

While we had been in the queue waiting to meet the Cap a lady had commented on Opeie being 'a little heartbreaker' and while me and Seth were on a ride Opeie did what he does best and continued to woo the ladies with his handsome face and gentlemanly charm, this time a couple of marvels finest heroines!

And then it was time for us to move over to Universal studios which as i said is located next to Islands of adventure. The heroes had important places to be so it was great timing really. Super hero island was amazing but if I'm honest we were all still over excited from Seuss Landing

“If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.”

Seth hasn't been with us for the last week, he's been away. Obviously we really missed him so today knowing that he was coming home we were all really excited, Opeie especially (he's been asking for his big brother every day). After all the big hugs and kisses Seth was desperate to give Opeie something he had got him while away, a selection of super hero ducks. It was so sweet how excited he was to give his little brother his gift and Opeie was really happy when he saw them. I love that they are so close it's so important and knowing that Seth was thinking about him while away makes me so happy. They've been joined at the hip this morning, Opeie's going to be even more excited when he realises that Seth doesn't have to be in school for a while.

Roll on the summer holiday and some amazing adventures with my favourite people.

"Eat to please thyself, but dress to please others."

Sometimes i don't think that Mrs M realises just how lucky she is. Not only does she get to rub shoulders with myself and the boys but yesterday she got to have a sit down meal with three comic heroes. I thought she would be so overwhelmed that she would have written this post herself!? Tut Tut Mrs M!!

What's it really like when it's Snowingindoors?

Since writing for Nuby we've been given some really great things. But My favourite thing to have come out of the whole experience is new friendships. I've been chatting to a few great bloggers and today we we're lucky enough to get the chance to meet one of them or should I say three. Em, Annie and Ezra are the... Well I guess you can call them the stars of Snowingindoors. Both myself and Mrs M were drawn in to this blog from the start mainly because of the great pictures but also because Annie and Ezra looked like such happy children much like Seth and Opeie I guess.

After finding out they live near our beloved 'whole foods' we arranged the meet. So when we woke up this morning we were excited about our mini trip. Our high spirits were almost destroyed by motorway traffic but we eventually got through it and arrived only 10 minutes after we had arranged to meet. We were greeted by three very smiley people which is always nice. Annie very confidently introduced herself and told me how old she was and how old she will be next birthday which I thought was great. Seth is very confident around new people too its a really good trait for a child.

We sat and had a drink in the wholefoods cafe and had a nice chat. We've talked a fair bit online but it's so much nicer to meet people in person. And it's always nice to meet genuinely lovely people. Annie was great with Opeie and I think he was quite excited at the thought of a new friend. We told her all about the super heroes we love and in return she told us how much she liked Star Wars and that Luke was her favourite character. Gotta love our nerdy kids.

We had decided prior to meeting that we would have lunch at Wholefoods, a perfect opportunity to use our Nuby products so we both turned up well armed. We all had a great lunch although Em forgot to eat hers as she was concentrating on the children, classic parenting move. The children were a delight. Ezra made us realise just how bad Opeie's eating is as he was happy munching down his food and Annie was making us laugh with some crazy talk, kids have great imaginations.

After lunch Mrs M, Em and Ezra went to do a bit of shopping and i entertained Opeie and Annie at the play area outside of the supermarket. Annie is like a whippet and was running rings around me and Opeie. Opeie was really loving having an extra little person to run about with, he was really missing Seth as he does every day that he is at school. It made me realise how much i was looking forward to Opeie running about like that.

We had such a great time and i always appreciate new friends, were already planning our next meet up and apparently Annie is really looking forward to meeting Seth.

"You've got to get obsessed and stay obsessed."

Its been a busy week on the Super Hero Squad collection front. Ive been snapping up every one i can find on eBay for Opeie's collection when he's older. Welcome to my obsession. I don't think i need to say anything else so just a short one tonight until my next update.
