"they did the mash, they did the monster mash"

I feel like today we have reached our LEGO blogger peak, We received a message from Mrs M while me and the boys were out adventuring to say that there was a package waiting for us and when we got home there was a whole box of series 14 minifigures waiting for us. We've been sent some amazing things since writing for LEGO but this case has been the most exciting for so many different reasons. The LEGO horror and monster figures became my favourites after the release off the monster fighters kits a few years back. I've always been in to B-movies and zombie flicks so these are right up my street.

Since finding out about this series I have been waiting patiently for their release, so having a full case to play with is going to be a lot of fun. Stay tuned for some minifigure fun, I sense some form of zombie apocalypse just around the corner.

"It wasn't all bacon slices and pork crunch..."

We are loving series 13 of the LEGO Minifigures, in fact we've all said its been our favourite yet and as me and the boys sat down to play with our beloved bricks, this epic LEGO battle took place. I love the ideas the boys come out with, they both have a great imagination and sitting down with them is always entertaining.

Get to the shops, get some Minifigures and start creating. With such a versatile toy, whats stopping you?

"I am the one hiding under your bed Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red"

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, it always seems like a bit of a pointless holiday, maybe I would feel different about it if I was in the US. Seth gets a little excited though and although Opeie finds it all a little scary he loves to copy his big brother, so despite my reservations it was important that I indulge them both. Whatever time of year it is we always have to fit in a relevant Lego build and this Halloween was no different...

Seth wanted to decorate his room so we made a giant spider to hang from his ceiling and got him some inflatable pumpkins. Opeie wasn't sure what to make of it all but thankfully he didn't freak out.

While we were out at the shops earlier in the week, Seth spotted a 'decorate your own plate' and asked if he could create a Halloween plate. I'm so glad he did because the finished piece looked amazing, I love Seth's drawings...

Opeie joined in the fun too with a little help from mommy...

I know the post is a little late but i got side tracked doing other things, I was pleasently surprised that no one came knocking on our door on Halloween (yes I'm like the all hallows eve scrooge). I'm not surprised though, the only trick or treater i saw was a little girl wearing a bin bag. I wont lie I'm glad its over so that we can concentrate on the real holiday, Christmas. You can be sure that there will be many Christmas posts coming your way

Happy belated Halloween from us.

"But the girl wasn't just a girl... she was a witch"

Although I'm not overly impressed by Halloween i still love a good children's book and being Halloween it seemed like as good a day as any to read The Haunted House by Kazuno Kohara, weve had this book for a few years, the story is great and the illustrations are amazing. The story is about a little girl, who isn't just a little girl but is also a witch...

The little girl moves into a haunted house (worrying for any first time buyer) but luckily she knows how to catch ghosts...

What do you do with ghosts once you've caught them i hear you ask?? well.... you pop them in the washing machine of course! Der!

And then hang them outside to dry. Sounds crazy i know but its surprising what you can actually do with freshly laundered ghosts, this little trick is enough to put even Dunelm out of business...

And the best part of a hectic day ploughing through a mountain of Supernatural washing, is you can curl up in bed and use one as a blanket. Very cute.

I love this book and the boys love it too, great reading for Halloween.
