"The space within becomes the reality of the building."

From the moment Seth woke up this morning he talked about nothing but building a base. I do understand his excitement though more than most people. I used to build a base pretty much every week when i was younger. A lot of the time it was just a sloppy 'throwing a sheet off the top bunk and hanging it over the side', but sometimes i would really put the effort in. I used to pretend i was on a space ship or sometimes i was a pirate. Id love to be able to watch myself back then, i was usually on my own so it would be so interesting to see what my role play was like.

Luckily Seth doesn't have that problem as he has an amazing playmate, a young man who is educated in both pirating (is that a word?) and Space travel.

Well we cleared the floor in Seth's room and began our epic build. Its amazing what you can do with garden canes, electrical tape, Clothes pegs, 2 curtains and a duvet cover.

It did end up taking up a lot of Seth's floor space which i know Mrs M wasn't very happy about as she said the room looked messy but who cares when you've got an awesome base to play in. Seth decided to add the play tunnel to the door, which apart from taking up even more floor space looked great and made getting in a lot more fun. Not that i can fit my chunky body down there.

Opeie got really excited which resulted in the cover being pulled down a few times but once the initial excitement was over it stayed in one piece. Seth decided that he wanted to take in his Batman imaginext to play with (No surprise there!). Apparently the base was the Batcave and the play tunnel was the exit for the Batplane and the Batmobile. What was really cute was that every time Seth wanted to leave the Batcave he crawled down the play tunnel with the Vehicle. Adorable!

Once it started to go dark i added Seth's fairy lights which was great and Seth really enjoyed playing in the dark (plus in Gotham, night time is when the Villains come out to play). We finally got to make good use of the Batlight on the Batcave.

Just before bedtime me and Opeie went in there to play. Opeie was exhausted so decided that he just wanted a cuddle which was really nice, he lay on my chest and i stroked his hair. He lay there with Cyborg in his hand and wouldn't let him go. Although obviously being very relaxed he didn't fall asleep, well not until mommy came looking for us because she didn't know where we had disappeared to, joined us and gave him a feed. That sent him straight off.

I'm pretty sure we will be in there first thing tomorrow playing Batman it's Seth's new favourite place to be. You can't beat a good base. After all Batman would be lost without his beloved Batcave.

Ok so Im a sucker for a smiley child, after Seth writing his first post "In every real man a child is hidden that wants to play." i had to get him the Penguin submarine so Mommy could play Batman with him. I lasted about 24 hours before i bought it online. Instead of it being for Seth though the note from the pirates said that it was a gift for Mrs M. Obviously she was over the moon i mean what mother wouldn't want the gift of a Penguin Sub and Mr Cobblepot to play with. As it was a gift for Mrs M and Seth they would like to write today's post so here they are. . . .

The penguin submarine : The pirates left the penguin submarine in the hall by the bath room door a few weeks ago. Mommy was in the bath.

The Penguin came with a umbrella, and you press the button and spins and it spins and it spins...

the submarine shoots disks out of the front, the disks shoot out of ....... the BEAK!!!!!

And the legs wave at the back when you roll it over the floor.

The Penguin submarine has ..... a spy hole!!! !!! I think this is cool, because the people can see out of it.

I like his coat. It is smart it looks like it's posh!!!!!!

I wish that it could go in the bath and I wish it went 'Beep Beep Beep' like the submarine in the Batman Film from along time ago.

Mommy wishes that it was big enough for Seth and Opeie to fit inside because that would be so fun and cool. Mommy likes the Penguins submarine because it looks very french, the Penguin has the best outfits and clothes.

The wings .... FLAP UP AND DOWN!

Other toys we might like in the Batman collection, are the Joker's Fun House, the Jokers lorry, the BatBoat, the Jokers Tank, and batcopter, and Mommy would like Poisen ivys house. ( If that exsists!)

Seth has been asking me for a while if he can help with my blog because he likes seeing all of his  toys on the computer and he thinks that keeping a blog sounds fun. He said that when he is older he would like to write a blog about star wars! grrrrr...... like i said before Ive Lost him to the Darkside. "DAM YOU WILLIAM!!!" (shakes fist in the air!!!). I hoped both the boys would eventually start joining in and so far it seems to be going to plan.

Anyway over to Seth..... "I got the batmobile last week because Ive been a good boy and because i had some pocket money off my nanny Robson when we went to see her to take her some meals. The top window is easy to open and it came with a Batman figure  which was cool because he is wearing driving goggles. There is a button with the bat symbol on it for a grabber on the front to grab the Joker. When the wheels spin the fire on the back spins when it drives."

"The Batbike came with the Batcave, i use it for Robin but i have lost Robin at the moment he's run off to join the circus" (i love how he said that, after what happened to the rest of the grayson's at the circus i dont think he would be going back there in a hurry.)

"I like the goodies the best but the the baddies are my favourites as well and two face is one of my favourites because he's got half a bad face and half a good face. The Riddler is one of my favourites but i don't know why. Mommy likes the penguin because she likes his umbrella, she wants the Penguin submarine toy but they didn't have it at Toys R Us when we went."

"The Batcave we got from Toys R Us is quite cool because its got 3 floors ones at the bottom one in the middle and one at the top and its got a lift and the bat sign on the front lights up. There is a grapple hook gun. Its got a turning bit on it that opens the door. You can use the feet on the figures to open doors and the lift and a little gun thing that comes from out of the roof."

"When im playing with the Batcave i like to put the baddies in the jail on the back. Ive got 3 batman figures and i like to pretend that each one thinks their the real batman and they get angry with each other. Ive got 1 robin. ages ago Pauly was the Joker and he had 2 figures and pretended that one of them was a robot joker to trick me."

"Opeie has got a Batcave too and we like to put them next to each other so that we can play together, it's got a slide and a garage on it for his Batmobile and do you know? we got it from America in Florida. I got some Lego batman stuff that day."

"My Batcave has got a door on the side for Robins motorbike and the door on the front is blue."

"If we win the bat helicopter on eBay i want to write on the blog again, i would also like the the jail playset with bane, the jokers fun house, joker tank, and the penguin submarine so mommy can play with me."

Well there you have it, all you needed to know about Seth's Imaginext Batcave, it made a nice change lying on his bed with him before he went to sleep writing this and it's made me want to jump on eBay and buy that Batcopter just so we can do it again and i know that Mrs M will feel the same about the Penguin Submarine so Mommy can play with him.

I think i will definitely be making this a once a week thing as i love hearing what he has to say about his toys he's such a kind and sweet boy and i cant wait for his brother to get a little older so he can join in too.

Turns out that the missing Robin was actually with a missing Batman that we had forgotten we had. The two fearless crime fighters were overseeing the construction of their new underground Batcave that is being built under Arkham Asylum (For anyone out there with no imagination they were under the sofa).
